Constructed in 1824, Ooty Lake is an artificial lake created by John Sullivan, the first Collector and virtual founder of Ooty. A picturesque garden surrounds the lake. The tall cross upon the grave of William Patrick Adam, the Governor of Madras Presidency overlooks the lake from the St Thomas's Church. Ooty Lake stays in the heart of Ooty with its L shape construction. It is the best place for boating and the summers are primly wonderful.
